Young Great Horned Owl
Canon 40D,400mm f/5.6 @ 1/60, ISO 250
I watched this young owl and his brother/sister for several months; from their time in the nest to their first trys at flight.
This shot was taken back in a swamp not to far from Alexandria. It was the last time I had the chance to photograph these amazing birds before they left the nest for good.

Campfire by the lake, Camp Cuyuna
Canon Rebel-XT, 10mm, f/9 @ 15mins ISO-100
In case you where wondering that Bright oval in the sky is the moon and this picture shows how far it can move in a 15 minute span.
There are three different sources of light in this shot, Moonlight, Firelight, and the flood light on the boathouse.
Combined they turn this into an interesting shot.

Remnants of Autumn
Canon Rebel-XT 18-55mm f/5.6 @ 1/125 ISO-100

Late Winter Storm
Canon Rebel XT 18-55mm f/16 @ 1/60 ISO-100

Jack's Canyon
Minolta XG1, 45mm ISO-200 film
This was a shot from my vacation down in Arizona this summer, Jacks is an amazing place to go climbing
but it out in the middle of nowhere and its not a short hike to nowhere. I stuck my camera in my climbing bag and went.

Argus C3, ISO-200 film
This shot was taken last spring north of Alexandria with the oldest camera i've ever used.
Nothing like a pair of hip wadders and some film.

Early morning in southern MN
Canon Rebel XT, Tokina 10-17mm 30 sec. exposure @ f/20 ISO-100
This picture was taken at dawn down at Blue Mounds state park.
Because of the longer exposure this picture looks much brighter than it actually was.

Cog Railway
Canon Rebel XT, Tokina 10-17mm 1/500 @ f/7.1 ISO-100
This is the view heading up Pikes peak in Colorado Springs, This is the longest cog railway in the world and it heads up to the top of Pikes Peak at an elevation of 14,100 feet its a long trip.

Water under the bridge
Canon 40D, 18-55mm 1/125 sec. @ f/3.5 ISO-200

Splash Down
Canon 40D, Canon L100-400mm 1/1600 @f/5.6
This picture was taken in my parents driveway during a warm day this year.
The point is that you don't need to go out of your way to find something to shoot, you just need to keep your eyes open for something new.

Bald Eagle

Foggy Road
From one of my photo trips around the state, This area is only a half hour north of Springfield.
